Dr. LIU Siyu got her doctorate degree in Oriental Studies in University of Oxford in 2014, after which she took the current position of lecturer in School of Chinese Language and Literature in Beijing Normal University. She is also a research fellow in Center for Studies of Literary Theory, one of the key institutions under Ministry of Education in China. Dr. Liu’s research focus on contemporary literary theories and criticisms, traditional Chinese poetics, Chinese intellectual history, and Zhu Xi in particular. She is also paying close attention to the growing area of digital humanities. Dr. Liu teaches English courses in comparative cultures, English and Chinese translation, as well as Chinese courses in literary theories, cultural poetics and traditional literary criticisms.
